Oh boy, they would love me.  I work for a large lumber company that needs about 225 million board feet a year in fresh "old growth" trees.

I think hippies are so funny.  Those shown need to lighten up on the shrooms a bit.

Earth First is a radical, violent, militant group that has no problem committing violent crimes in the name of their cause.

Make no mistake - they are a gang of thugs.

"Hippies", by definition, advocated universal love and peace and communes, and used protests as a means to influence cultural and political change.  They faded away in the 70's folks.  Keep up!  :)

They are still around... In NoVA about 12 years ago they vandalized several construction sites, destroyed a lot of equipment, spray painted stuff, etc.  They are loosely (probably more than loosely in reality) affiliated with the Earth Liberation Front Domestic Terrorism group.  They have just gotten less attention lately, as these extreme leftist terrorist groups lately prefer to just attack economic conferences, political conventions (both democrat and republican) and G8 summits.  If you are not at work (my job would fire me for visiting this website), I would suggest checking out the Earth first website, and here is an article of theirs espousing violence and destruction... This is a scary, scary group of terrible people.

I have always wondered how long one of these people would remain an animal lover if they were attacked by an animal like a bear or a shark.

Heck, that idiot that lived with the bears in Alaska, made the documentary, and was finally eaten by them, is the hero of the wacko enviromentalists....  He saved the bears, and gave his life doing it.  Of course the bear that ate him and his girlfriend is now a rug on the wall, but that is because we did not understand bears like he did...

What is to understand?  You live with and are in close contact with GRIZZLY bears.  One of them decides to eat you!  Seems someone else did not understand bears!!! :-? ::) ;D

I guess they all live in Mud Huts since most houses are made out of lumber.

Not to mention wipe their butts with plastic, surely they wouldn't use toilet paper.

I think we are doing OK now, we've found a happy medium between rabid nuttiness about the environment and corporate slop dumpers... If the rest of the world can keep up, they'll be all right do.  The funny thing is, is that the solution is common sense back yard ecology that true hunters and fishermen have always practiced.

Thank Walt Disney for his anthropomorphism.

Seriously?  I don't know that I''d blame a tv show, a movie, or a video game for these wackos... Their dementia started at home at an early age probably a form of neglect or abuse... Why not blame JRR Tolkien too, for creating those ents?

Seriously though, IMO the reason the enviro-nuts don't find more success if they lack any ability to negotiate. You cannot run on the "Down with people, up with trees" platform and win much. Instead of trying to kill lumberjacks with chains, nails, bars, and whatever in trees. What they have to do is work with leaders, find middle ground where they can achieve some good things for the environment and allow humankind to progress.

I never really understood eco-terrorists either. What have they accomplished? Besides killing people, how to they help the environment? I saw once where they burned a bunch of SUVs. I cannot imagine what kind of crap that put into the atmosphere.

The sad part is we could probably use some more environmentally sound policies, and technologies, the way to do it though it working with these industries and government leaders and finding that middle ground.

These people make me laugh, but whatever floats your boat I guess....

However I think tie die is cool and I grow soy on my farm but I am NOT a hippie. Shoot I love the sound of a Big Block with open headers and NO catalitic converter and uber high compression.
