toolpush Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 If it's too loud your too old. I guess I am, did meet them in a blues bar one night in Lubbock, Tx. They were just hanging out, they did get on stage and performed two songs, however. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted August 20, 2008 Super User Posted August 20, 2008 happy B-Day dime! Quote
billbrum Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I miss Dimebag. But his brother Vinnie is a dang good drummer. Quote
toolpush Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I just remembered, they played "Johnny B. Goode". And Dimebag totally rocked it. (see above post). Quote
fishbear Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Darn, thought this thread was about the car. :-/ :-/ Quote

Supposedly Phil said some things when he left the band and was "quoted" saying that Dimebag should be beaten severely. Apparently somebody acted on it. I'm not to sure on the whole thing because I haven't seen the interview where he supposedly says it. I guess it doesn't really matter anyways, a great guitar player was lost. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted August 22, 2008 Super User Posted August 22, 2008 My all time favorite metal band. That might not last too much longer though. L.O.G is catching up fast! Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I really like them, but stopped listening after the Great Southern Trendkill... I thought the next album, Reinventing the Steel stunk. I think Dimebag was a very capable guitarist, but that a lot of people over-rate him because he was killed. Quote

Ballpark Frank Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I loved Pantera from the start until G.S.Tk. They changed with that album. I still listen to the old stuff, but have others now. As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, War of Ages, Lamb of God are the ones on my Ipod right now, right next to my Viking/ Folk Metal favorites(Amon Amarth, Borknagar, Ensiferum, Finntroll, Waylander). Avalonjohn44 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Amon Amarth, I love Amon Amarth, but some of their lyrics bother me... LOG=Lamb of God, right? Anyone listen to Iced Earth? Guitarist Jon Shaffer might be my current favorite. He also has a side project Demons and Wizards with the lead singer of Blind Guardian. Awesome band, I haven't found too much else that I really like these days. Quote
