No doubt, our lake has some man hole cover sized snappers in it and we were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time a few yrs ago when they were going at it. At first, we thought a big turtle had a duck or a lrg bird so we started heading to the back of the cove where they were. When we saw that it was 2 snappers, we backed off and let them go about their business. This was no "quiet" romantic encounter, let me tell you,...the shells made a "crunching" sound, lots of thrashing and stuff. Considering how old a turtle that big is, it's a very cool experience to witness something like that. I think those prehistoric things are amazing creatures. They make good spotters too,lol, every time a biggun pops his head up, we move closer to where he was and sure enough,.....fish on!
