Are the post counts gone forever?  I kind of like it b/c it should end all the arguing, that happens from time to time, over if a post was made just to raise a post count.  However, I have already had a thread or two in the outing section that I thought might be someones first few posts, and didn't know if a welcome was in order.

For obvious reasons, I'm very happy to see the post counts removed.  Hopefully, it will cut down on the number of nitwits who post meaningless drivel for the sole purpose of increasing their count.

Doubt it,not sure why you mind it so much either.I rather have these kids talk about fishing online instead of go out and smoking and doing drugs. Some of these kids look up to you older guys on here(I think some of you guys have no idea!).Don't put such negativity in their heads because they like to communicate with other kids who fish on here. Some kids just like to talk or in this case type on message boards. :-/

And with that said....i'll be gone for awhile. Some more crappy stuff happened in my life and i'll see myself online a lot less for awhile till everything somehow gets back to normal for me and my family.

I'm in a bad mood and if anything i said offended anybody i apologize.Didn't mean to hi-jack this thread.

I got rid of it from the threads due to the needless, endless, trivial emphasis that people continue to place upon it.  From people striving to "get to the next level" to those accusing others of "post padding", in addition to those boasting about reaching a milestone.....

Post counts mean nothing - they have no bearing whatsoever on the quality of the posts nor the quality of the person.

And to fight and bicker over it?  C'mon!!

Ya, I've had enough, if you can't tell.  So I removed it.

As the sight grows in numbers there will be more bickering and complaining going on . It's just the nature of humans to have opinions and sometimes be beligerant about it.

People will be jealous  , they'll form their own cliques. That old saying "bigger is better" sometimes just doesn't apply. I hope that won't be the case here.

So when was it removed?

I never noticed.

Man, I miss so much in my old age. ;D

Glenn, I think you should replace it with average words in a post. That will help people decide who to take advice from. If they have a higher word per post, they would be describing things better. Just an idea.

Oh and muddy... Ill just leave it there ;D

I could type up a 400 word post on nuclear fision.  That doesn't mean I would necessarily know what I was talking about or that I explained it well.

Okay... now if only we can figure out who the people WERE, who are forced to change their viewed screen names when they update their profile. (some change it completely, with no reference to prior screen names)

Never noticed posts counts on most members.    I didn't even know they were gone.

I just now noticed that it was gone. I guess I cared about it a little or I wouldn't have noticed that is wasn't there anymore. I didn't dwell on it, but always thought it nice to attain the different "membership levels". Then again, I don't think I've ever abused the post count. . . :-/

RIP post count!!

BTW-  Just in case anyone wants to know, I have 1393 posts, now.

Did I mention that I have 1393 posts?   ;D

Lol, don't think I would have noticed if you guys hadn't said something.  I agree with the decision, wise move and it definately should curtail some of the so called "drama" we get on here sometimes relating to post count.

Anyway, it's cool that it is still visible under the profile though.  Good call.

Well, speaking of post counts...this is post number 1001 for me. This means I have attained the coveted blue color on my screen name.

Score!
