Im telling this to everybody. Today in gym class I dunked a volleyball on a full size 10' rim. Now heres the cool part. Im stand at 5'6" tall. Starting today, i am on a mission to increase my vertical jump, and eventually get up to a full size men's basketball. Being a distance runner, most people find it odd that i have the fast twitch muscles to manage a 32 inch vertical jump. That is usually asociated with sprinters. However, im not a bad all around runner. I can run a 5k in 16:29, and a 100m dash in 11.3. Ive never trained for sprinting events or for jumping. Does anybody have a good program that will increase my vertical, so i can dunk a real ball sometime this year?

man i had a good joke for this but i guess its the wrong site to use it,but anyway i saw those shoes that had the extra stuff under the toes  making the front alot higher so your calve muscles would get stronger and im sure alot of basketball players started out with them  hope it helps

there is an exercise my brother has had me do several times that can improve your verticle or all around speed.i belive he called them table tops but its a series of stools each a little higher than the last,he would get one that he figurred would challenge me and get a stop watch, then tell me to jump up onto it with about half your foot still off then jump down and repeat for a full minute with out stoping, as easy as it sounds it is challenging and can shave time off of a your 40 and as i said your verticle will improve too  :)

Actually, i was a little dissapointed with my 5k times. I have been the fastest in our conference for 3 years, and i took 3rd at regionals this year. I am also a runner with asthma, and it came to bother me during state. I ran a 16:56 and got around 70th place. My junior year i ran a 16:35 at state and got 40th. I was less than 10 seconds from all-state. Im looking to get all state in both of my events in track.

Me too.  I was afraid he was planning to brew up some of that nasty over-hopped, over-hyped IPA.

What I would do, is just use a step and stand on the balls of your feet with your heels hanging off, just go up and down. Real easy.

That one's a classic, especially when Kramer goes to the banquet for the MR people.

Jimmy thinks Elaine is kind of cute!  ;D
