harpoon Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Deaknh03, My wife is always asking me why I don't use the boat. And I always say " I have no one to go fishing with" I guess I need to get some of them "fishing buddies" like you got.. Quote
fmoore Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 harpoon.....I'm not familiar with that part of the state but I'm sure some guys will be along shortly to point you in the right direction. If you want to know more about waterbodies in NH, though, I strongly recommend you go to this link http://www.nbswebstore.com/cgi-bin/web_store/web_store.cgi and type "Clark's" in the search bar. It's not the only place you can get it, either. Plenty of great info in that book. And as for not having fishing buddies, who cares?! Time spent on the water alone can be some of the most relaxing, rewarding fishing you will ever experience. Quote
harpoon Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks alot FMOORE, much appreciated. I will definately check that out. As for fishing alone I don't mind that. I am just new at the boat launching thing and not comfortable doing it alone just yet. Quote
Kevin McG Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Got out to Flints(Hollis) this morning and got my PB, I know it's nothing compared to you other guys but I could not get the smile off my face all morning. Place has been torn up with all the dredging but the fish jumping on my lines all morning. On a bad not I have not caught that many Pickerels in a long time, pretty big ones also.. Here some pics Quote
Kevin McG Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 This little guy had me cracking up ;D Quote
unhbass37 Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Nice. 2 pounder? Glad you had a great day. I have not been out in a while. Quote
Kevin McG Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Nice. 2 pounder? Glad you had a great day. I have not been out in a while. OMG! did I read the scale wrong? I am a moron :-[ Had to be bigger than 2lbs though, it was 17" long :-/ Quote
Kevin McG Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Nice. 2 pounder? Glad you had a great day. I have not been out in a while. Whew!! just ran down to check that scale, the outside ring of numbers is lbs. and the inside is Kg....4 pounder Quote
wagn Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Has the fall bite kicked in yet? I'm limited on water time right now and wanted to see if the spinnerbite bite has started for anyone yet. It's probably still a little earlier for consistant jerk baits, but those should start really hitting again soon as well i'd think. Have fun on the water everyone Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 14, 2010 Super User Posted September 14, 2010 Wagn, it sorta has started. I've been finding fish chasing baits, like swim jigs, and faster moving/ hopping lures. Also, during the day, they are not necessarily tucked way out deep, they are all over from 1'-10' consistently. Haven't thrown a spinner in while, but I almost guarantee they will be working. Hope you get out soon, bro! Quote
BucketMaster Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wagn, me and my brother in law got out last weekend, I'd say its safe to say the fall bite is on. We were hammering them on just about everything we threw, from spinner bates to bil-less cranks to senko's we were knocking them caught at least 24 in only 3 or so hours. Most of them were small (between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds) no real sizable ones but could have just been the location. The bite was definitely on though. Quote
harpoon Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Hey Bucketmaster, what lakes were you hitting and what time of day is best? Thanks signed yee who can't catch any fish Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 17, 2010 Super User Posted September 17, 2010 I hope you all aren't putting your gear away yet just cuz it's a little chillier now! Some great fishing is going on right now, and it's only gonna get better in the next few weeks. Got out yesterday with Badcrawdad and his friend, and we got on quite a few, including a 5lber for Badcrawdad. At another place, my friend caught his new PB yesterday of 7lbs, plus a bunch of others. So, you guys should grab your rods, head to the water, and post some pics of some fall NH hawgs! Quote
badcrawdad Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Here's a pic of the 5lber Shane spoke of. Quote
NHFisher Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Here's a pic of the 5lber Shane spoke of. Nice fish!! We should try to get out soon. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 19, 2010 Super User Posted September 19, 2010 6lbs, 9oz caught yesterday on a KVD bluegill swim jig with Rage Baby Craw trailer. Quote
fmoore Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Nice fish Shane! What a pig. Look at that belly! We fished the tournament of champions for the Friday night league we fish in (TOC is a full day tourney) and placed 2nd on Monomonac. We picked up our 5th fish with 10 mins left in the day. We fished our ***** off all day and only caught 5 keepers. I had three smaller ones and my partner had the two bigger ones. Can't complain with second, we did all we could to catch fish. A 4 digit check for first would have been nice though :-/ Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 20, 2010 Super User Posted September 20, 2010 Sounds tough, Fmoore. You did good, though. Hell yeah a 4 digit check would be nice! Man, you gotta get me in on this stuff! Quote
Super User Shane J Posted September 20, 2010 Super User Posted September 20, 2010 6lbs, 1oz from today. Same swim jig that's been gettin' 'em good for me lately. Quote
fmoore Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Geez Shane. Nice fish man. I went fun fishing for the first time in at least a week and a half tonight. It was nice to relax with the dog for once. Boated 10 or 11 smallies on the CT River. Fall bite will really be turning on soon!Another week or so and it should be red hot. Quote
troutguy Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I have gotten out a few times over the past week and it seems that for me the bite in the lakes and ponds have become slow...I have fished the nashua river the past few days which in my opinion is fantastic...A nice mix of smallies and largemouth with a pretty consistent bite as well... Quote
nashua fisherman Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 ...I have fished the nashua river the past few days which in my opinion is fantastic...A nice mix of smallies and largemouth with a pretty consistent bite as well... did you catch anything big? i caught a 4.5# bass a while back, but other than that ive never caught anything big there. me and my wife put in at mines falls a couple weeks back and headed up 3 miles and fished our way back. we were surprised to see smallies in this stretch of the river. we also caught lmb, yellow perch , crappie, bluegills and a fallfish. we caught about a dozen fish a peice but nothing over a pound. we werent really expecting anything big anyways so we were just using mepps spinners. just a relaxing day catching anything that would bite. Quote
jaystraw Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Great job Shane!!! those are some beautiful pigs! I've only gotten out in the canoe lately. Had a good day on satuday catching a couple 3 pounders and a 4 pounder. All were near wood cover of some sort. I also saw a lot of fish cruising the shallows. The feed bag is on!! Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Any one fished ottarnic pond / tonic pond in hudson nh ? i am thinking i might try it out wed early first light. have to be to work by 8:30 so only a couple hours to fish Quote
troutguy Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Nashua Fisherman I fished that part of the river today and actually had alot of success towards the dam. The water ranges from about 5 ft to 25+ with alot of structure. I caught 6 bass a few smallmouth on a panther martin and the rest on senkos. The only problem with the spot is theres so much structure i lost i think 3 senkos. they ranged from 1-4.4 pounds Quote
