Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 10, 2009 Super User Posted August 10, 2009 Anyone been fishing at Pinchot lately? I always seem to forget about this lake. It's only a little over an hour away from me and supposedly kicks out some large (for PA) fish. I would like to make it out there sometime in the next couple weeks, likely an evening trip during the week or a Sunday trip. Let me know if anyone with lake experience would like to go out... Quote
basser89 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Haven't been there lately but would like to get back over there sometime! As long as I don't have my daughter on the weekend you go, I'm game! I'd be up for a Cowan's Gap outing too. No, I got it! MG! ;D I'll even throw this out there, let me know if you want to come down here too. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 10, 2009 Author Super User Posted August 10, 2009 At this point, I am down for whatever. I have seen some reports of bigger bass at Pinchot and I am always looking for new water or water I havent seen in a while. The last time I was there, we had a couple toothy follows on bucktails, so that is a plus... I will let you know. Quote
basser89 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Cool deal! By the way, if you don't have one, I have a map of Pinchot. Heading out now to try my luck at muskies on the Potomac. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a pic or two later! Quote
boatnik13 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I think speedbead was going to look at my map last year but didn't get to Pinchot at that time. Anyway we just finished up mapping Tuscarora lake in Schuykill Couinty. 2 weeks ago in the upper 1/3 'd and its headwaters of the Tusk. we found pods of fish in the depths from 3' - 10'. the water clairity was 8' + and we spotted big bluegill ( large size or bull ) some musky and Lm bass . Most bass were in two groups 12" and less and some pods had 12"-16" size and then single bass that truely over 18" ( + ) some of them big brutes followed the underwater camera for lenthy time. Now this past weekend we were at the deep end (dam ) and less activity infact I was thinking of going back up the lake because of all the fish but thats not why I was there. Very clean lake ( unlike pinchot ) but limited to boat trailers like lake redman. You got to be at the lake by 7am to get a spot. Quote
