zdunham Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I was just wondering if anyone that happens to live in PA has been to Brady's Lake recently, or ever. It is near Arrowhead Lake. The reason I ask is because they drained the lake a few years ago to repair the dam there and I heard that it is back. The Google Maps satellite image still shows it drained. Does any one know anything about this lake? Quote
hawkeye84 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Hello zdunham: I live outside Philly and my parents have a house in Arrowhead and I've been to Brady's a couple times. I've been there as a kid once or twice, but more recently now that I'm older. I've been there once maybe a year before the new dam was finished so it wasn't completely drained. There was somewhat of a reservoir streaming down from the north about three hundred feet before the dam and it was surrounded by the lakebed's overgrowth. However, my buddy did pull two nice bass in that resevoir. Since the dam was finished, I've been back three times, twice on a boat. The first time we just fished by the dam and there was nothing. On the boat, my buddy caught a bass and a couple pickerel both times. We took a johnboat all the way up until it was nothing but wetlands with a stream too small for the boat. It looked perfect to get some fish but we got nothing. My buddy thought that since it was so freshly filled, the overgrowth now underwater is slowly decaying and messing with the pH. It made sense and that was a year ago. Google maps shows the lake outlined and not filled, like you said. But I was looking at google earth and the satellite image shows a small lake in the south which would have the dam. Then it shows a north lake connected by a stream to the south lake. Now this image looks old because when we zoomed in, it shows rapids where the dam should be. Today, I'm leaving for Arrowhead with my buddies. We're all going to Brady's most likely tomorrow and maybe Sunday. No boats the first time because first we plan on hiking the trail that runs up the side of the lake. We also want to try to find out if that middle stream we saw on the satellite image is what we encountered on the johnboat or was it the delta. Oh yeah! We're also going to hopefully catch some fish. So, when I get back I'll let you know how it is and maybe have a few photos too. Keep Reelin' Quote

YoTone Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Hey, i stumbled across this thread while staying up near arrow head lakes in the poconos. after a few days of so so fishing at the arrow head i found Bradys lake on the map and read this thread and decided to check it out on my kayak. such a pretty place and the fishing was good for the 2 times i went. i caught most of my fish near the middle of the lake on the boat ramp side. caught a few decent fish on a variety of lures but the neko rig and the popper caught me the biggest. caught this on the popmax throwing to an isolated stump.
