hawgrx Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Going to Bass Pro today...I think their sale is starting today but I cant find any particulars regarding what is on sale. Any suggestions. Quote
Guest muddy Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 First off welcome to BassResource.com. When you get there , they usually havr greeters, ask for a circular. They usually have them in a stand by the cart or you can just go to customer service and ask. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May the BAIT MONKEY be with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
hawgrx Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Thanks guys and I am sure he will be with me. I have given up fighting the bait monkey. I know...I am in a dangerous place. Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 Look into the clearance bins, you can find great deals in those, like when I found the Rapala Risto Rap at 2 bones a pop ( 1.99 ea ), oh boy ! needless to say I stocked up good. Quote
Stasher1 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Make sure you pick up a flier at the door and look it over. Some of the sale items aren't marked. I was at the Atlanta store today and picked up two BPS Extreme rods for $59 each (normally $99 ea.) and a spool of XPS Flourocarbon (17#) for $10.71 (normally $15.99) There were bins of sale items all over the place and LOTS of people just wandering about in a daze. : A little irritating, but well worth it for the bargains. powerman970 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Went yesterday and loaed up. Well worth the trip and I am going to pull out the bike and head that way again today. It is about an hour drive but on the bike and taking backroads it will be clser to two hours one way. Still well worth the trip. Quote
Other. Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I went to BPS yesterday. They had a sale 3 stick'o for 10 dollars. They are very good senko knock offs and come in bags of 20. If your BPS has that sale I would surely go for it! Quote
wishin4fishin Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Went yesterday to the Cincinnati location. Nothing like trying to find that elusive Black Ghost Shad Rap with 18 other guys in the aisle with me. The place was pretty crazy, but i had fun. A few good deals - mostly on BPS merchandise, but all Zoom plastics were 25% off. Found some Strike King Shaky head jigs marked down, etc. You kind of have to figure how much gas you're going to burn driving to get there vs. shipping charges online, vs. what you can find at Wally World, to understand if you're actually making any real savings. The 30 dollars worth of gas I burned to get there kind of offsets any savings I garnered on purchases. This is probably not the case if you plan on making more substantial purchases, say, multiple rods / reels. For me, the whole experience just makes for a fun afternoon I guess. Quote
Guest muddy Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I am off to Cabelas today, while everyone else is at BPS, kind of like fishing the other side of the lake ;D Quote

I live about 15 miles from the Atlanta BPS, but I only make the trip if the item(s) I'm looking for are at least $30. Any less than that and it's cheaper to pay for shipping than waste two gallons of gas at almost $3.50 a gallon. Quote
Tetra Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 i went on friday night for the prefered customer event and the start of the fishing sale. i bought some fireline, enticer footall jigs, some ewg offset hooks, those strike king finesse worms that are stretchy, and a 7' bps extreme spinnning rod which i'll save for a fathers day gift. i'm going to get a spinning pflueger president next weekend to match the rod when they do the reel trade in. i wish they sold fat ikas.
