-HAWK- Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Heres a couple options for your price range that I would recommend: http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SCRE.html http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_102287_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1 What I would do though is save up a little more money and buy the high speed CURADO for $179. If you look on EBAY there are some deals to be had. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SCER.html Check out this deal -> http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Curado-200E7-Casting-Reel-CU-200E7-09-NEW_W0QQitemZ360163792843QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item53db6f57cb&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1205|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50 Quote

BenoBreath Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Hawk: Thanks for the imput. The BPS reel could be the ticket ! BB Quote
Tanker4lyfe Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Right now you cannot beat 2 of shimano's products. The citica 200E is awesome and they can be had for $99.00 at academy. also you stated your looking to spend 100-150 you want the best real out go with the curado 200E, and shimanos customer service is bar none the best. alot goes into chossing a reel, price, ratio(speed), weight, and other things. O ya and ill put my citica's and curados up against and reels out there. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted June 27, 2009 Super User Posted June 27, 2009 Shimano Citica 200E if your money is important to you. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted June 27, 2009 Super User Posted June 27, 2009 Just my opinion after fishing with them for over 25 years, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better quality & bargain, than an Abu Garcia 5500C. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I use an Abu Garcia Revo S model for spinners. It can't be beat for the $ IMO! Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted June 28, 2009 Super User Posted June 28, 2009 Pflueger Patriarch 64LP, $130-160 on ebay Quote
Fat-G Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 With all of the specifications you stated, you need to get a Shimano Citica 200e. These reels are ridiculous. Smooth as anything. You can't beat the price, and you'll never use another reel again. It's really an amazing reel. Workhorse too. Everyone is going to say different things, but that's just cuz they haven't used a Citica. Quote
stryk9 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Pflueger Patriarch 64LP, $130-160 on ebay x2 i got mine for $136 NIB... curado is good too Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted June 28, 2009 Super User Posted June 28, 2009 Cabelas prodigy baitcaster made by daiwa. On sale for 75.00 right now. I agree. This is a very good reel for the price. Can't go wrong with Daiwa quality for this price. Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 28, 2009 Super User Posted June 28, 2009 Abu Garcia: C3 & C4 or Revo S Daiwa: Tierra Series, Megaforce Plus, or Trillionaire Pflueger: Trion & Purist Quantum: Code or Accurist Shimano: Cardiff or Citica Throw in BPS & Cabela's your good to go Quote
