jack1 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 With all the questions on braided line knots, what knot do you use on mono and fluoro? Quote

bassprofishguy Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 i use palomar on everything ive to this date never once had a knot break sure myh line has broke but never at the knot.and on some braid ill add a dab of superglue to it...if you want a great book about knots then get "bob mcnallys complete book of fishermans knots, rigs and how to use them". theres some pretty great knots in that book some ive never even heard of but have used and work great. Use ONLY Stren Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I use a palomar most of the time, but sometimes i'll tie a trilene or an improved clinch with two wraps around the hook eye. (The Trilene or improved clinch ONLY with mono or flouro never with braid.) Quote
adclem Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Palomar except for top water then I use an Improved Clinch Knot. Later, Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 I have tried many of the knots and I always go back to my 2 knots that my dad taught me nearly 60 years ago (braid, mono or fluro) ordinary cinch and a loop knot. I know most fish for bass but my target species run larger and my knots do perfectly fine. Just make sure you tie them correctly. Words like "always" & "never" don't exist in my vocabulary, problems do arise. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 I'm partial to the ole' Trilene knot. Been using it for a lot of years. Most modern knots are pretty reliable however. It depends on what you're use to tying and the ease and speed at which you can do it. Quote
