I use a palomar most of the time, but sometimes i'll tie a trilene or an improved clinch with two wraps around the hook eye. (The Trilene or improved clinch ONLY with mono or flouro never with braid.)

I have tried many of the knots and I always go back to my 2 knots that my dad taught me nearly 60 years ago (braid, mono or fluro) ordinary cinch and a loop knot.

I know most fish for bass but my target species run larger and my knots do perfectly fine.  Just make sure you tie them correctly.  Words like "always" & "never" don't exist in my vocabulary, problems do arise.

I'm partial to the ole' Trilene knot. Been using it for a lot of years. Most modern knots are pretty reliable however. It depends on what you're use to tying and the ease and speed at which you can do it.
