pipho Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Does anyone here use rattles on finesse jigs? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 26, 2006 Super User Posted December 26, 2006 I have never added a rattle to anything. The only ones I have used are built into or already attached to the bait. I think that for finesse fishing, you are looking for subtlety and the rattle may detract from your presentation. Rattles seem un-natural in this situation... Wayne Quote
Craw Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I primarily use two different finesse style jigs, Eakin's and Buckeye Lure's. Neither of these come with an attached rattle and I've never thought to add one. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted December 27, 2006 Super User Posted December 27, 2006 I use Eakins style finesse jigs all the time and I never use rattles. When I use a finesse style jig it is clear to stained water and even though I have tried rattles they just do not work for me. Now for muddy water the Strike Pro model jig seems to shine. These are the only jigs I use that I do not make myself (because I cannot find the same rattles). Allen Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Yes sir I have. I've tied a few up with rattles. I prefer finesse jigs w/o rattles. Sometimes it is a benifit though. Quote
