kmai01 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 What is the best flouro?? Bass Pro Shops XPS???? Berkley Vanish??? Any others??? Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 seguar invizx.that said i'm not nuts about flouro.one good backlash and you have 20 dollars worth of garbage.tried it for a whole season and invizx was the most castable flouro i found. Quote
Jake. Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Avoid Berkley Vanish like the plague. My favorites are Trilene 100% and Sunline FC Sniper. InvizX is also good. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 BPS XPS of course!!! X 2 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 ;D ;D ;D I've been using Vanish for 6 years now....this will be my 7th.. Never had a problem. Of course, I'm using spinning equipment, not casting, but I don't think I'd have a problem with that either. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 Trilene 100% offers the best combination of strength, abrasion resistance and manageability. If they offered that line in a fluorescent version, it would be pretty much all I use. BPS XPS fluorocarbon isn't a bad line, but tends to be a bit stiffer than the Trilene. It also tends to 'shear' quite a bit more than any other fluorocarbon I've used. When the line breaks, it tends to separate. Kind of like what a roll of scotch tape does if you just scrape up one side of the tag end and try to pull the tape off the roll. Quote
Primus Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I use BPS floro with my baitcasters, it's a little on the stiff side but manageable enough for this application and it's reasonably priced for florocarbon. You can get 800 yards of the 14 & 17 lb. test for $69.99. I now use Trilene 100% for my spinning reels, extremely impressed with this line. Quote
Triton21 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I agree with Burly. All the other flouro lines are done after one backlash. Trilene 100% isn't. More bang for you $buck$. Kelley Quote
basser89 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Currently, I'm using BPS XPS. I do want to give Sufix' fluro a shot this year! Quote
heathen Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Seguar Invizx for all around use, Sunline Shooter for feel presentations Quote
