Wildbillb Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I would like to pick up a slow 5:1 baitcasting reel dedicated for crankbaits. Does anyone have a favorite one? I am partial to Quantum reels. Thanks in advance. Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 18, 2008 Super User Posted April 18, 2008 Shimano Calcutta CT50 Gear Ratio: 5:0.1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 18, 2008 Super User Posted April 18, 2008 Shimano CTE200GT 5.0:1 Although this is a smooth, compact reel, it is strong enough to fish for any and all freshwater species. I have two which I use for a variety of purposes, but it is ideally suited for deep cranking. 8-) Quote

The Next KVD Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Shimano Bantam Citica or Bantam Curado. The new Citica's will also work great in that gear ratio. Quote
oldschoolbasser Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Ambassadeur 4600AL.Although it's a 4.7:1 gaer ratio,it's close enough with it's large spool diameter. Quote
