4pwr Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Browsing the web looking at Abu round reels. I do not know the difference in the C and D series 5600 reels. Also what is the difference between a 4600 and a 5600 reel. Prices are all over the place. If you find a deal are you getting a real 5600? Quote
Big T Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 The difference between the C and D series is the number of bearings. The diffference between the 4600 and the 5600 is the line capacity. 5600 holds more line. Big T Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 The D series reels are slightly smaller, with a recessed reel foot to give them a low profile feel. (a little easier to palm than the C series) I have a D5 that I absolutely love. The IPT is 23" so I use it for Deeper diving crankbaits. Falcon Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 The difference between a 4600 and a 5600 is the width of the reel, the rest of the reel ( size, profile, gearing ) is the same. A 5600 holds more line because it has a wider spool. Quote
Pencil Pusher Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 "D" series have magnetic brakes, most "C"'s are centrifugal. Quote
