radman Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 What st.croix would work best for fishing the shakeyhead. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 29, 2007 Super User Posted November 29, 2007 Welcome aboard! I think the AC68MXF is a pretty versatile rod and would be great for shakey head jigs. Quote
radman Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 The AC68mxf is a casting rod did you mean AS68mxf spinning rod. Thank you Quote
dbass Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 RW, Great choice! Hey radman, I do believe that you left the post open to interpretation, it could be any way, Casting or Spinning.. Tight Lines!!!! Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 30, 2007 Super User Posted November 30, 2007 Like usual, which one is best depends greatly on many factors, one of the most important ones is type and ammount of cover where you fish mostly, I can shakey head in a couple of my hometown lakes with a UL rod but doing the same in another of my hometown lakes is simply put, pushing it. So I shake with a MH rod when I 'm there. If I had to choose 1 rod alone for such purpose I would most probably choose the one RW suggested. Quote
Infidel. Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 The one RW suggested is exactly what I use for fishing a shakey head. I personally feel more comfortable fishing a shakey head on casting gear. Quote
Super User Tin Posted November 30, 2007 Super User Posted November 30, 2007 Not a Croix guy anymore, but still love the AVS68MXF for my shakey heads. Quote
