10,000 lakes Bassin Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Have any of you tried these jigs? What do you think about them? I picked up a couple but it seems crazy spending that much on a jig Quote

Texas Flood Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 My favorite jigs. Tungsten, smaller/slimmer head and they have the best bait keeper. I can live with the price but I usually try to wait until someone has them on sale. 1 Quote

Yeah they seemed pretty nice and I luckily haven’t lost one yet 🤞 Do you use them as an all around jig or specifically for grass flipping? 1 Quote
Texas Flood Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 I use the Stealth Feider for casting at or around grass and brush piles. Then it’s the Cage Feider for flipping around docks and wood. 1 Quote

River fishing and bottom contact lures gets expensive. Allen 1 Quote

I use them but I don’t feel like they are critical as tungsten flipping weights. If I’m pitching a jig into vegetation or brush piles I don’t believe the material give me more useful information. It’s when a football jig is connected to the bottom the material shines for me. I really like using tungsten flipping or worm weights because they are smaller and fit the baits profile better. 7 hours ago, Munkin said: Since I lose a jig every 1.5 hour of fishing on average they are too expensive. If you shop JDM sites the Deps and OSP jigs are $4-5 bucks which I can stomach. Plus the small profile gets snagged less. Quote
padon Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 i like them and use them but not exclusively. probably the only real benefit of the tungsten in grass is its a smaller profile then lead so less area for grass to hang on. but thats minor. probably do just as well with a lead dirty jigs. but they are a good jig. now for a dragging football jig i do believe tungsten is superior. 1 Quote

GetFishorDieTryin Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 I really like Riots minima jig which is now tungsten and tungsten FB jigs. I do feel like the tungsten lends itself better to a football jig, but I do like the smaller profile for flipping jigs at times. I try to only buy them when them when they are on sale and limit to buying 1 or 2 to replace losses when the price is full retail. Before going all in and buying a bunch, I would recommend getting 1 or 2 and seeing if tungsten is worth it to you, before investing in dozens of them. 1 Quote
