I have exhausted my search for a stupid tube jig that fits the short 2.75” fat tubes. At this point I’m facing either upsizing to something like Blue Rock’s 3.5” stupid rig or using a ball head EWG.

If so, what size do you recommend for KVD 2.75” fat coffee tubes?  Looking at these two brands, although leaning toward the BKK as it’s available in 1/4. Is 2/0 probably the best fit?

Wacky Head Jig - Sz: 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 - Hk: 785 - Collar: None (do-itmolds.com)

My suggestion would be to try some of these flick shake heads without the weedguard. Mustad makes a size 1 hook for this mold and the Mustad 91768 in sizes 1/0 to 6/0.

The reason you cannot find a stupid head for this is the hooks (60 degree EWG) used are not made in any sizes except 3/0 and 4/0.

I will try and check tomorrow to see what hooks I have and compare to a small tube.

I don’t need bigger I need smaller lol. I even tried the #1 Nedlockz and they don’t fit either.

So here are some I poured on some size 2 wacky rig hooks I had to bend from 30 to 60 degrees. Mustad 91768 hook maybe a little too long? Do-It hook looks like it would work. This is a 2.75" Bite Rite tube for a size reference. Both hooks can be poured in 1/8 and 3/16oz cavities but the Do-It hook does not fit anything bigger.

Core tackle weedless hover rig.  The hook will come out the back of the tube like a normal tube jig.

Rig like a normal hover rig bait, but try to stuff a bit of plastic worm in the middle of the tube before rigging.  The hover rig lead diameter is much smaller than the inside diameter of the tube so fit is an issue without the extra plastic.

If you don't care about the spiral, rig it on the back of a normal weedless jig like a flipping jig without the skirt (got the idea from James Watson).  This rigging style has caught me some good fish this year and is my go to with fishing this profile of bait on a power fishing flipping/heavy cover setup.

Not sure? I don't have any of those tubes. The tube in the picture is a 2.75" Bite Rite tube.

Sweet, ya I tried these over the weekend and they work but the large ball head creates a sort of bulbous, irregular shaped head that I’m not sure I’m crazy about. I don’t suppose they make one like you have made with a tube head?

Send me a message and I will send you some heads to try. If they work I can give you all the information needed for someone to make them locally for you. The mold can only make 1/8 and 3/16oz so let me know what weight.
