How are Oneten's made...????

I got bit by the Megabass bait monkey really bad and I'm geeking out on them. I've been watching countless videos about them but haven't found anything about how they are made. Does anyone have info regarding how they are made or how they are painted?

@Crow Horse I would imagine they mold 2 halves of plastic, sonic or chemically weld them after some assembly (hook & line tie eyes, rattles, etc), sand/deflash seams & then coat the lures with whatever processes they decide gives best appearance they’re after. Anything unique to the luremaker’s processing is likely not to be public knowledge & closely guarded.

Haha.  I've been down that rabbit hole too.  It's an expensive tunnel to enter.

Just wait until you start checking eBay for "limited release" colors.  Honestly I think most of these may just be more of a gimmick than effective at catching fish.  You're better off sticking with more natural colors, IMO.

Let's be honest. Megabass could release a plain white 110 and label it as 'new limited edition Respect' color and everybody is gonna buy them up. 😅

Not specific to the 110, but its a cool little promo even now almost 10 years later.

The 110's did seem to change sometime in the past couple years, if you have an older one and newer one in one of the more translucent colors, you can see slight differences in the internal structure.

The videos posted add a new perspective to the weapons we use. Very interesting! Thanks!

Are there "Megabass collectors" out there? Some of the prices I've seen on Ebay are insane. They are pricey normally. I can't see tossing a plug that cost 3x-4x's the normal price.

(I'm not debating their normal price point)😀

For the most part, that's the course I chart. There are times depending on water clarity and a whim that I'll try an unnatural color (ie, bubblegum or neon colors). Sometimes it works and other times it draws a blank.

My unnatural colors always draw a blank.  Always do better with natural colors like perch, bluegill, or some variation of white/shad.

And it will probably catch the heck out of fish too! White is one of my favorite colors to use.

Oh, I'm sure. OB Stain Reaction OB and French Pearl OB are a few of my favorites.

There are a lot of megabass collectors that go crazy over certain colors. I recently traded 4 vision 110's in kingyo colorway for a 500 dollar reel.

Honestly, before covid it was easier to get baits from Japan for super cheap - almost like people didn't know about it. You could get at least 100 colors of vision 110's and special edition colors and stuff.

Add Fine Art Wagasaki (However in the hell you spell it) to that list.

To the OP we now have to do a background investigation into you. Asking how the Vision is made suggests you work for one of the three companies that hasn't knocked it off and are trying to catch up.

Maybe the fish in your area don’t chew bubblegum 😊

What got me first interested in learning about Megabass lures aside from reading about them here was one item in particular. They use guanine in some of their finishes, the same substance that are in fish scales that produce the iridescence/light reflectivity. I was really impressed by this much attention to detail. My wife works in quality control.assurance for a major high end artist paint manufacturer and their attention to detail is amazing. I saw that echoed in Megabass. If they go to that length in the finishing process, I was curious as how that translated into the other parts of production.  Plus, I had no idea how they actually manufactured the lures....

@Crow Horse The Lucky Craft MS (metal scale?) finishes always catch my eye when I see a new one.

They’re like little mirrors, changing color at different angles & catch many a bass’s eye on sunny days.

MS stands for Magic Scales on LC baits. They use to sell the scale pattern stickers that you could add to baits.
