ApacheGuns515 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 So mine's not nearly as purdy as the rest of yall's but she does the job quite well for what I need. Bought it years ago for like 100 bucks from some guys back yard. I think it's an old model bass hunter or something like that. Either way it floats and the thing is virtually indestructible. I leave it in the river behind my house where you see it most of the time. In fact I accidentally left it in the water back there last winter and the river actually froze with the boat in it lol. Spring came and it thawed right out and kept on floating right there. Prior to that it sat in that guys yard out in the elements for like 10 years.  I'm pretty sure that thing will remain in tact for the rest of my life unless I take a shotgun to it or something lol. Not even a crack in it...  Anyway, here's a few pics from this morning. Nothing fancy, no mods, most of my fishing money is spent on my kayak, I just toss random stuff in the little bass boat and roll out.   1 Quote
cwalls Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and it's been awesome reading comments and seeing your pics...I'm about to go pick up my first bass raider 10E. I will be hauling it in the back of my truck, and I was wondering if there's any pointers you got that I may need to know as far as loading/transporting it goes?  Quote

Full size or midsize? If full size then it should fit in the back no problem but if you have a Ranger or a Tacoma or something then the pontoons will have to sit above the wheel humps in the bed.  As far as loading it goes simply lift it front end up and set it on the tailgate. Keep one hand on it as you transition to the rear to lift it up as they tend to slide back in that position. Lift the back end up and slide her on in there and strap it down. Unload the same way. Just remember to always keep a hand on it while you are moving to lift it up or slide it out when it's on the tailgate.  You can either bungee the seat down while it's on the boat in your truck bed or remove the seat and stick it in the cab if you have room.  Enjoy! These little boats are fantastic. Quote

Dirt Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 It will take a few trial runs to figure out the best way to launch/load depending on your lake etc. I use bungee cords or rope attached to the front handles, while standing in the bed, and just lift it up into the bed. If the lake has a dock I don’t get wet one bit. Let it out into the water the same way, just slide it out with bungee cords, step to the dock and tie it on. I leave the seat in it along with the rods strapped in, the less stuff to bring in and out the easier it is.  I leave the seat on for transportation but have it secured with a bungee cord that has caribiners on each end. One on the seat, one on a front handle. Then I use cam style tie downs for the rear of the truck, and bungee cords on all 4 corners. Quote

I think I paid about $45 for it. I've been asked about it a lot so if there is any metal fabricators out there, I can provide pics and measurements. Quote
Murphy S. Law Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Thanks dman. Do you already have that info posted? Quote
Larry parham Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 New to the site. I have a pelican bass raider 10e. Looking for a boat cover for it. I keep the boat outside at my son’s house. He has about a 4 acre lake in his backyard. Quote
Murphy S. Law Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I got my Bass Raider 10e yesterday! I have been looking at the one they have at academy sports, and it has been $599 forever. I keep waiting for it to go on sale, but it hasn't yet. I went in yesterday to get some chatterbaits, and figured I would stroll by the raider display just to be disappointed again, but there was a sign laying on the shelf next to the raider, that said "HOT DEAL" $549. So I inquired about it and it turns out that the real price was on the opposite side of the sign... $599. But since the sign said the other price, they honored it and gave it to me for $549. I told them to let me call my wife to make sure it was ok (3 guys laughing in background), and I would let them know in a minute. Â So I get it ok'd by the chief, and go back over there and can't find the guys I was talking to. So another guy walks up, and I explain the whole ordeal to him again, hoping he would just agree and process my request. Well he not only did honor the price as promised, but for my inconvenience of the other guys not being there when I came back, he knocked another $20 off! So I ended up getting the raider for $529 plus tax. Not too bad. 2 Quote

They seem like they will be perfect for the little ponds and lakes I like. Quote

Murphy S. Law Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I was actually able to start working a little on my new raider. I started with cutting 1/4" luan plywood for the floor. I then cut and fit some anti fatigue mats over that, that I bought at Harbor Freight for $7-8. 1 set came up 1/2 a piece short, so I bought 2 sets, and used the rest in my shop. I will prime/paint the luan for water proofing, and after any/all wiring of future mods is complete, I will velcro or double side tape the flooring to secure. I do want to be able to remove it easily when needed though. Cut width of luan was 20", and cut width for mat was 21". Â Â 3 1 Quote

Mark P1958 Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 Murphy s Law ,have you been able to stand on the flooring yet / was wondering how the 1/4" does .I weigh 250# and not sure if I should try 3/8 or 1/2 . I only want to do the section just in front of the single seat of my 10e Picked up a bare bones last week for 275$ bill of sale only , got an affidavit saying it was never titled because of pond use only Already had the TM / battery and tiller extension so I bow mounted it and load it on the trailer backwards Quote
Murphy S. Law Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Mark P1958, nice steal. I weigh in at 205lbs., and the 1/4" is fine. The anti fatigue mat gives cushion, and together it makes the grooved raider floor unnoticeable to me. I just wanted to get rid of that groovy feeling under my feet while minimizing any extra weight by heavier lumber. For me, it works. 1 Quote

It's like fishing on air. Lol. Nah... haven't had the raider out yet. But it sounded like a great KVD mattress commercial tho! It does feel good under the feet! I'm in the middle of building a cabinet for the Mrs. for her stained glass hobby by Christmas, and totally renovating my hallway and dining room/kitchen, so the mods and raider will have to be here and there for now. I am constantly getting the things I need TO mod it, but actually getting around to doing it will be a process. Happy wife, happy life. I will post more pics as I do, tho. Thanks to all. 1 Quote

I hear you the one time I've been out it was weird trying to stand on the bare floor . Looks like I'll be going to H freight soon! That was cool how you got the extra off on your 10e / to be clear mine did not include the trailer only a couple of paddles and 2 seats lol but I'm happy with he deal .
