I'm a huge fan of Gamakatsu hooks. That said, I was in our local Walmart a couple of days ago for cat food. When there, I always check the Fishing Dept. although it rarely changes. The have Berkley Fusion hooks on clearance for two bucks and change. Are these hooks any good?

The fusion hooks are great IMO...almost on par with gama and owner..they are for sure a premium hook. And for around $2 a pack I'd buy everything they had that I have a use for.

I really like them after I receive gift package full of them, I understand that the have special coating and they are really really sharp, I am happy with them specially the wacky weedless which improved my hook up to bite ratio.

Thank you for all the replies! If memory serves me correctly, the majority were EWG 3/0, four or five to the pack. I think that there my have been some trebles too, but I'm not sure. Off to Walmart!

Those weedless wacky's are awesome. The flouro weedguard is outstanding. WAY better than wire IMO.

I can’t remember if I’ve used them or not but they sure look sharp. I was pondering on putting some of the big thick ones into big 5-6”  paddle tail swimbaits

Somethings that are excellent don’t appeal to Walmart shopper and by policy it must be cleared after 3 months.

The Walmart fishing department buyer wants to clear the deck with the hooks, therefore they are priced to move.

Go for it. For $2 a pack you can't go wrong.

Checked my Walmart today and they are still full price. I have used them in the past and been happy with them.
