cyclops2 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 The older I get. The more I miss summer. " Please Mr. Custer. I do not want another cold winter. " " There is a great big icicle hanging on my gutter. " 1 Quote

In a month and a half I'll be looking at iced over lakes all teary eyed :(. Mid-march I should be able to fish. I just won't think about all that yet. I've got some good fishing left to do this year down south. Fishing tomorrow and a friend will be joining me later in the day. Just now, GreenPig said: Man it hit 70 here yesterday.? Super User WRB Posted November 14, 2021 Super User Posted November 14, 2021 2 months it will be January and the spawn in Florida. Today it was a hot 90 degrees in SoCal, with a early spawn for sure. Tom 3 Quote
rtwvumtneer6 Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 I can usually find pretty good prices on airfare from mid-January until the end of February. Usually by then I've cleaned and organized all my gear changed out hardware on my tackle. All the cabin fever activities, if you will. I go to warmer weather, and hope to bring it back with me. 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted November 14, 2021 Super User Posted November 14, 2021 My favorite lake surface temp low this year was 66 degrees in February, High in Sept. was 78 degrees. If my shoulder keeps getting better, I hope to be in my Kayak landing DD. bass on buzzbaits during the Christmas Holidays. Sure do miss ice fishing. 1 Quote

As a fisherman from the “great white North”, I can tell you with all certainty that if I was able to catch DD bass on a buzz bait at Christmas, without having to fly somewhere to do it, I would NEVER miss ice fishing! Spent the day in the woods in a mix of snow and rain today. Was definitely not a topwater day, but we did bring home two deer for the freezer though ?? 6 Quote

cyclops2 Posted November 14, 2021 Author Posted November 14, 2021 Great Lakes all need another fill up. Some big freighters were not filled to clear the bottom in some places. The real problem place, is Montreal. It is right on the St. Lawrence River water level. Talk is they want to move it to high enough ground to allow a year around city. We will see. 2 Quote

We already had a morning last week when the temp was only 18. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 14, 2021 Super User Posted November 14, 2021 We choose where we live and put up with climate. Ours is ideal weather wise otherwise it’s the pits. Tom 4 Quote

Ummm - go through the ice and you can catch/keep LMBs until end of Feb and C&R SMBs for the same period in the southern zone...keep SMBs in the northeast zone. Come on, Chris...thought you knew the regs here. 1 Quote
