I've been fishing with ulgy sticks my whole life and finally have some money to get into a nicer rod reel setup. I'm sold on the dobyn's line, looking at the champ or champ extreme. I like the lifetime warranty and that it is $80 + shipping to replace the rod if I break it. What I'm curious about is if I own this rod for 20 years, will they replace it for $80 every time it breaks or just once?

I'm usually pretty great with not messing up my gear, but I am guessing these rods are a bit more sensitive to getting knocked around then my ugly stick. Not planning on breaking rods, just want to know what I'm getting into.

I emailed Dobyns a couple weeks back and haven't heard from them.

Call them. It’s very easy to talk to a human with no hassle trying to get through. Very friendly and helpful staff.

They have good service and will take care of you now and 20 yrs from now guarantee. A lot of companies are dwindling down warranty time frames. SC and Dobyns still have incredible warranties but you pay for it too in the rod pricing.

This is the answer.  There's always a live person during their normal office hours.

They have a great customer service. When I had a problem with my Dobyns I actually talk to the owner. The did me right.

I would call them. I emailed them for info on a rod a while back and it took a while to get a response, I think they might be swamped right now.

While I cannot answer the specifics about a second time rod replacement with their warranty, I can say that they are considered by many people to have the best warranty and customer service in the entire rod business for a very good reason.

I broke my Sierra 765. I sent the required piece in along with a money order. Called them when I got delivery conformation, and spoke to a very nice and helpful girl. She shipped my new Kaden 765 replacement the same day. I recieved my replacement rod 7 days after mailing out my broken rod piece. One week turnaround from OH to TX and back. Very friendly helpful staff. Customer service doesn't get any better than Dobyn's.

The girl did tell me they are indeed swamped with orders right now. OP, if you haven't already, call them. They'll be happy to answer all your questions.

Thanks for all the replies!

I called them and verified what others have stated. When you pay the replacement + shipping fees, the new rod comes with the same lifetime warranty!
