Super User DitchPanda Posted July 28, 2021 Super User Posted July 28, 2021 Has passed away at the age of 72. For those that don't know Dusty was the bass player for legendary rock band ZZ top. What a bummer. 1 5 Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I saw that. Joey Jordison, former drummer of Slipknot, also passed at the young age of 46. 1 Quote

Super User bulldog1935 Posted July 29, 2021 Super User Posted July 29, 2021 I saw them at Nashville fairgrounds (Tejas tour) in '76 - they closed after The Band on their last waltz. We were on a blanket right in front of the stage. ZZTop are all from Beaumont, and recorded everything in Memphis. 1 Quote

Now THAT must have been a show to see. You're a lucky man! I have the movie of The Last Waltz. On the rare times I bring music out bass fishing, The Band and old ZZ Top seem to be heavily represented on the playlist. 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted July 29, 2021 Author Super User Posted July 29, 2021 I took my dad to see them in 2005 for his birthday. They were in there mid 50s at the time and they were fantastic. Best concert I've been to. Quote
volzfan59 Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 RIP Dusty Hill! I saw them twice in Knoxville, TN. The "Bringing Texas to the People" tour, with live animals on stage and the "Eliminator" your. Both great shows. 1 Quote
