RobA Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I was skimming over the manual for my Garmin units and it sounds like it's useful to leave a blank Micro SD in the unit to take advantage of some of the features. Am I reading this correctly? I've already used the cards to update the software. Quote
desmobob Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 I keep one in my 93sv so I can easily transfer screenshots I've taken on the water to my computer. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted May 1, 2021 Super User Posted May 1, 2021 Yes, you will need the card to store screenshots and waypoints as well as ActiveCaptain. Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted May 1, 2021 Super User Posted May 1, 2021 After you have done the update, just erase the card and put it back in the unit. That update info on the card is no longer needed once you put in the unit and it updated from it. It will automatically load the info on the card that's needed and then you can use it for extra storage. Quote

Super User Way2slow Posted May 4, 2021 Super User Posted May 4, 2021 I actually used mine for the first time this past weekend. All that bench time I spent going through the manual and learning every feature on the unit sure was helpful. I was perfectly comfortable being able to do what ever I wanted with it. Swapping the side scan from side to side proved to be very helpful also. 2 Quote
