Yea for real. He fell twice and still had it hooked. I like his enthusiasm. You can tell he is there to win it all.

If Wheeler pulls this off, he may be the King of Eufala. He is so good especially off shore here. If he gets dialed in through the 2nd round, and in to the 3rd. He will be very hard to beat.

I wonder if Thrift is struggling with the extra boat traffic. I saw him make his run, and passed like 3 boats within seconds of each other...

Only 2-3 out of 100 are watching their graphs on Tennessee river right now. Of course one of them is the leader with all smallies

I called DC, saying he was due when we started this thread! I am hoping he continues to hammer em. He needs this win to keep up! Plus he is pretty darn entertaining!

He seems like a good guy!

Birge really slow rolling that spinnerbait. I don't think that I've fished one that slow!

I find it hard not to route for Dustin Connell ~

Seems like a grounded young man with a great set of instincts.

Perhaps beyond his years.

Fun to watch.

Been a big fan of Connell since he won the blue trophy here at Ross Barnett.  Just love his style and attitude.  Definitely pulling for him.  I do not hate Wheeler at all but I really want to see one of the other guys have their time.  Connell, Neal, and Birge are all deserving of a big win.  They have a number of top 10 finishes

He reminds me of Steve Irwin. The dude is a bull in a China shop, just like Irwin was. I haven’t been able to watch much, but I did get a kick out of him seeing all the beds and getting excited over the huge bass that turned out to be a turtle.

Oh and in the midst of all that excitement were any of you watching and waiting for him to kick a rod overboard?

I don’t know much about him or have seen much of him, but he does seem to be beyond his years. He was fun to watch the little bit I did.

I saw him at a fishing show once and he was talking to a couple people about learning from the fish you catch. He said," you should be able to give a book report on every fish you've caught; the fish are telling you everything you need to know, but are you listening?"

Presentation: slow, fast, in between?

How deep?

Was it a flat, point, hump, channel bend?

What water temp? Air temp?

Sunny? Cloudy?

Wind direction?

Low or high pressure?

Bottom compositon?

Weeds? What kind?

Rocky bottom? Boulders, Chunks, gravel?

He's like the redneck version of Aaron Martens
