Or am I late to the party?

Bass Pro Shops and founder Johnny Morris unveiled plans Monday for a national amateur bass fishing tournament to kick off the company’s 50th anniversary celebration.

No professional anglers will be allowed at the Bass Pro Shops U.S. Open National Bass Fishing Amateur Team Championships, a three-day event that will pay $1 million to the winning team. It will air Nov. 21 on NBC Sports Network from Table Rock Lake in Missouri’s Ozarks, and a regional qualifier to get there will take place April 17 at Lake Ray Roberts, north of Denton.

Yup it’s new. It’s limited to White River Marine boats.

It's very interesting but until I get my electronics up to par, there is no way I would be able to compete on these lakes. Especially since it would be tough since all lakes are quite the distance from my home. But who knows, maybe in a few years I would be able to give it a shot your odds of qualifying are actually not that bad.

White River Marine Group is the company Johnny Morris owns and they make several different brands of boats. Tracker, Nitro, Ranger, Mako, Sun Tracker to name a few. JFracho supplied the web address.
