Scott Nicholson Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Which one is the best for the money.. 7ft medium heavy Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 17, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 17, 2020 Haven't used a newer model Sellus, but the older models weren't great while the Arid x fishes well above it's price range. I'd use more of them if theu were offered in more models. Quote
Scott Nicholson Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 Saw they had them marked down to 39.99 at my academy might have to get a arid x . Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted December 17, 2020 Super User Posted December 17, 2020 I've got 4 different Aird-X models. 7' H/F, 7' MH/F, 6'6 M/F in casting and 6'6 M/F in spinning. The two 6'6 models are moving to shore fishing while I'll still be using the two 7' models in the canoe this coming season. I've handled Dobyns Colts - which are $25 more - and I still prefer the Aird-X over the Colt. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted December 17, 2020 Super User Posted December 17, 2020 I have two baitcasting Aird X’s: a AIRX661MFB and a AIRX701MHFB. They are hard to beat for the money. Quote
snake95 Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 I have a Sellus spinning rod that I use but would describe as just OK. It works for the price, but I have other rods in the same inexpensive end of the range that are better. Quote
Scott Nicholson Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 I got the arid x in 7ft medium heavy last night for academy for 39.99 going to pair it with my Bass pro qualifier 2 7.5to 1. And hit the lake this afternoon 2 Quote

I looked at the laguna and didn't like it as much as the arid x I mean I looked at them for a couple of hours.. glad I went with the arid x 1 Quote

It did okay - I definitely prefer the Aird over the Laguna. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 21, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 21, 2020 I have a Laguna spinning rod that works decent for small jerkbaits and cranks. I just use it for a beater rod when I'm fishing from the bank. They're on sale at Academy also and I'd have no problem buying another for $25. 2 Quote

Ya - the Laguna with my old President BC is shifting to the bank-beater trio. The other bank-beater rigs are Trion-30 on the 6'6 M/F Aird-X Avocet RZT-1000 on the 6'6 ML/F Avocet Quote

He was catching fish on a jerkbait with me a few days ago on them with 8lb yo zuri line. Great value rod for a kid or to have as a beater Rod. Not sensitive on any level with the rods I use, but I like the actions. Great rod for the 28 bucks I spent. Quote
