I know right ~

I always get it together in the end

but it's a routinely quite a process.

Here's 5 that are on my deck ALL YEAR long for both smallmouth and largemouth

Have a boat full.

Just hasn't been the deal for me lately. Replaced by a small swimbait. Dark Sleeper,  better at looking like a goby I think.

Plan on fishing them more in 2021, which means I will most likely be in a little deeper water.

Probably a good thing.

The season makes a huge difference though.  Hairjigs, blade baits, A-rigs, spybaits, and topwater all plays roles during different times of the season.

It's hard to break it out because it varies so much lake to lake for me, but overall it's some variant of the following

 

Drop shot or ned rig

Jig or T-Rig

Hollow body frog, popper or buzzbait

Jerkbait

Crankbait or Spinnerbait

Pre Spawn-Spwn

Swim bait rod/reel for Big swimbaits, glides and Lunker Plunker size top water**.

2 jig rods/bait casting for hair-pork* & soft plastic jigs.

1 worm rod/reel for big soft plastics.

1 crank bait rod**for deep divers.

1 spinning rod/reel for finesse soft plastics.

Pre Spawn 

put away big swimbaits and add 2nd spinning outfit=for Senko’s.

Summer

Add 6th casting out fit=for top water popper-walking lures.

fall 

Add 7th casting outfit** for structure spoons.

Winter cold period

put away summer top water outfit and soft plastic jig rod.

Tom

* still fishing pork rind trailers year around.

** no longer have swimbaits or rods/reels and structure spoon rod, plan to use top water outfit.

current 6 rod/reels for the future

3 each ALX custom casting rods w/ Daiwa reels.
