What do you use to pop off the little retainer clip that holds the clip in? Last time I tried I couldn't seem to get it off.

Put your thumb over 2/3 of it use a flat head to pull one side towards the center and up. Then just pick it out. You can put the reel in your hands in a plastic bag the first few times you do this so that clips doesn’t go flying but after a while you’ll be able to do it in a few seconds

Awesome man thanks! Can I run the stock bearings without the cages? I'll give them either a alcohol or ardent reel kleen bath then a drop of oil. Thanks again!

I think you mean shields. The cages are what hold the BB in the inner race of the bearing. You can run them shield less w/o issue. When removing the shields, be mindful to not damage the cages under the shields of the bearing is toast. Soak the bearing in acetone or lighter fluid. Carb cleaning also works put obviously just wear gloves when spraying it in the bearing. I dip them in 99% alcohol after the acetone bath and then shoot them /w a quick shot of air. I use a bearing tester to spin them and make sure they're smooth. A stupid spin time isn't entirely indicitive on a bearings performance. You ideally want the bearing to spin w/o any resistance and come to a slowing stop. Any abrupt stop means it needs more cleaning. Put a tiny drop of oil in the bearing, spin it around a few times, and reinstall.

Nice, I also got the Zillion recently, put the spool on the SS SV and AMO on the Zillion. Casts 1/8 Neko + Z-Man TRD and Hula sticks freaking far. Like further than my 7'6 902 Conquest spinning setup and this is on a 6'8 M Cumara rod.

Nice! I just got a Zillion SV and bought a spare Zillion SV spool for my SS SV. I'm looking to throw weightless finesse worms and other light plastics with the SS SV and heavier weighted and senko with the Zillion.

Can I assume the SS SV is the reel casting so far?

It's the Zillion with AMO spool.

I used a borrowed Zillion spool on SS SV like couple months and loved it. It was definitely more versatile and didn't feel choked like the stock spool. For finesse, I've only thrown 1/16 nail with 6" trick worm and throws it pretty well.

I decided to get the AMO for SS SV, but it was too wild for my taste. Found a good deal on the Zillion to swap spools around and hoping the Zillion had more powerful magnets. It paid off, though now there's a new finesse reel that was just announced that I want - Alphas SV TW, :x
