I don't know about others here, but I'm ready for fall. I've had enough of the sweltering humidity, and hot temps. Fall fishing can be good at times, and the cooler weather seems to give you a shot of energy. An added benefit is the fall scenery. The changing colors around the lakes is always nice. Anyone else ready for some fall fishing?

I'm ready for fall if the fish are willing to cooperate this year, from mid September to mid october I would either get skunked or get 1 fish per outing, finally I started having multiple fish days in early November and then it all shut down in December. That first period I mentioned was during a brutal indian summer.

I'm not ready for fall because it's right before ice.  LOL

But, I'm ready for some clouds and rain.  And not in the middle of the night. I've fished with cloud cover maybe once in the last month plus and that was for a couple of hours before they were gone.  I'm looking at the same thing over the next few days.

When it does rain it's horrible thunder storms so that doesn't help.

Bring it I say, 114° today and tomorrow and the next day............... Might get a break after that though, we'll be down to a comfortable 109°.

I see the Bass in the shallows, with their Evil lockjaw grin. I'm beginning to think I'd be better of jumping in and grabbing the taunting bleepers.

It's hot here...not 114 but still hot. I can tolerate hot but what sucks is we are in basically drought conditions...we haven't had measurable rain in over a month easy and this is the lowest I've seen the river since 2011. I'm ready for fall to cool off and hopefully get a decent amount f precipitation. What I'm not ready for is the 4 or 5 months of winter after.

When the air is hot & sticky,

catching bass can be very tricky.

But when the ferns begin to yellow, the biggest bass are sure to follow.

Once football starts the party boaters go home. The hunters go to deer camp. I can finally catch spots up river without getting run over

I’ll counter with...

But when the air turns crisp and cool,

I might find bass in a shallow pool.

But they will be hard for me to see,

With a bow in hand, 20’ up in a tree!

I’ll be honest.

For the first time since 1989, I may actually be looking forward more towards fishing this fall than bowhunting. Which I’d never thought I’d say.

Funny how having a place to fish (with good fish) right up the street looks darned good when you have nowhere local to hunt!

I don't like the cold, and September and October are 2 of the worst months of fishing for me typically, but it doesn't matter if I'm ready or not because it's coming.

The best time of year . Temperature will cool down , and you can fish or hunt in comfort. The only problem is deciding which of the 2 .......to do .

Bring it on. I’m ready. I’ve gotten some nice fish this season so far but,  fall seems to seal the season at times.

Shad spawn in one of my favorite times... I'm not a tourney fisherman, but I think I would excell in the fall... its moving bait time for me... the fish get scattered a bit but you can cover water quickly and go back to shallow and medium depths.  Lipless, square Bill's, spinnerbaits, and soft swimmers are my best friends in the fall....and dont forget you can still catch them on a spook type bait.    Easy to pattern them on the shad.

AAAHHHHHH fall...love love love.  Kids in school...people going to the games or glued to the tube....what's not to like.  Oh...can count those those heading to the woods to provide for the family.  Pretty colors from nature....it's all good.  So glad I'm still getting to fish...so glad.

Yes, ready for fall, been hot.

It's also a busy time of year between sitting in a boat or sitting in a treestand.

October is also the wife's favorite time of year to go camping.

You all can keep the artic blasts up north this year.

I'm hanging onto summer for as long as I can

I'd rather fish when its 90 than when its 40

When it gets colder I spend too much time watching my graphs looking for fish

28 days straight of 100+ temperatures, a local lake filled with vacationers and extra boaters from lakes and parks closed all around due to the Covid crap, yes I am ready for fall. Have only fished about 5 days this summer due to the excessive boat and jet ski traffic on this little local lake. So fall will be much welcome, as I can fish more with little or no boat traffic. Here in south central Texas, winter is not much more than an extension of fall. So look forward to fishing fall, winter, and spring before the idiot boaters and jet skiers take over for another summer.

For some reason our local lake is still closed.  They said Covid was the reason but there is no fishing from shore or boat.

I'm itching to throw all my new baits at the bass and stripers.

Edit: Checked the website, now closed because of fire danger.
