Sup all,

Any of you guys using Cortland? I’ve been pretty die hard with Sunline SX1, and use Sufix 832 in a pinch. Primarily 20lb on Spinning reels. Pretty interested in feedback if any one has any.

I really like the SX1 it’s always been durable and holds leader knot very well.

flipping and frogging FX2 50-60lb day in day out. Just looking for spinning reel feedback.

thanks in advance!

Yeah I saw em. looking to see if any one can compare it to SX1 more or less

judging from the sizing of the cortland braid. 20lb would be a bit thick depending on what size spinning reel you plan to use. if your putting it on a 3000 size you may not have any trouble, but based on my experience with cortland from the 30lb if you are wanting to give it a try you might want to scale down a bit.  i believe the have a 15lb as well that i have considered trying next time i go back to a 4carrier.

unfortunately i cannot give you a comparison against SX1.

i will say you should consider Sunline Asegai if you have not previously tried it. that is my preffered braid

I tried the asegai in 50lb on a casting set up. It casted great. Just ridiculously noisey compared to FX2. It was driving me nuts.

SX1 is a 8 carrier... seems everyone does 8 carrier for finesse then 4 carrier for power fishing heavier tests. Cortland is complete opposite.

since my original post I tried the 15lb Cortland. Felt pretty good however had a wind knot that never cinched down. Pulled it out easily but it was enough to damage the line right above the leader knot. SX1 I’ve braved the same leader knot for months. (20ft FC leader).

anyhow got a decent one on a 1/8oz hair jig. 1st cast testing the line out. ?
