Cleaned Shimano Curado and have part left over

I tried disassembling and cleaning my Shimano curado 200e7. I took my time and did it carefully and it's silky smooth, but the only problem is I have a piece left over haha does anyone know where this piece goes?

Pretty sure that is the anti reverse pawl, part number 2404 on the below schematic.

Leave it out, it's not needed. Brian.

Many, many many reel experts leave those out.  It is a backup and if it fails it will cause noise at best and cause internal damage at worst.  It backs up the (anti reverse bearing ARB).  If said bearing fails, you can buy another aARB.

How true leaving it out. I have a little plastic bag of those in my spare parts box from all the way back to my Curado 100B reels.

I had no idea you could leave it out.  I remember cleaning my reels the first time and i had the same thing left over and i took it back apart to put it back lol  

I know when i do my next cleanings i will leave it out...learn something new every day

You should come and work for the company I work for.  Previous maintenance guy always had extra parts left over after fixing a machine.    Usually just screws.  Machines still ran.

The newer reels dont even have that part anymore. They all just rely on the anti-reverse bearing.

I have removed all of mine and never had an issue.
