"This handle is a direct fit on the new Curado 70, no additional parts required! "

or are you asking us if we think it looks cool?

I'm asking if anyone has used it not if it fits. Opinions on actually using it.

I have an Ald 50 with the same handle as the Curado 70. My problem wasn't the 84mm handle but rather the tiny  knobs. I upgraded to full size Shimano knobs and the handle feels much "beefier".

A larger handle on a small spool, high gear reel might only slow the reel down a bit.  The longer the handle the bigger the circle you turn per revolution.  I wouldn't imagine any sort of performance increase.  If the knobs are nicer to you or something, then it might be worth it.

I just looked at getting the Metanium handle at Tackle Trap, but it was Sold Out.  I found it for cheaper at Shimano Parts https://fishshop.shimano.com/products/bnt4828 and they gave free shipping so it was only about $33.  I find the Aldebaren handle too small also.

I thought I remember seeing this once before....

You remind me that I haven’t swapped out my new handle for the 71. I got the new handle like 4-5 months ago lol. I ended up with SLX handle 90mm.

The metanium handle doesn’t look good on 70 at all. There is no silver on 70 thus the silver handle gonna stand out too much.

My opinion, I don’t care much about handle on my right hand reel. I can use from 80mm handle to 102mm handle. The long handle it is kind of get in my way sometime when cast (Steez ex with 100mm handle). The longest handle I have now is 102mm from Stephano 100XG. All other reels are stock.

Now on my Lefty I want longer handle to be able to reel in smoother when fighting fish and I stick to it.

Im not sure why you care about other opinion, it either you change handle because you like the look or it serve some purpose. A lot of Daiwa enthusiastic, they change handle that cost more than my reel. Shimano guys, we stuck with only a few option so do what you like.

Never did this, don’t have these reels, but the handle Upgrade is Probably one of the most Beneficial upgrades there is. A lot of reels have handles that are too short, when I upgrade them to something longer it is a drastic change.

Handle upgrade is usually the first upgrade I'll do to my reels.

I like a longer handle, especially on my cranking and spinnerbait reels.

I usually put daiwa cork I shape knobs on my reels. I like the way they feel.

Well paired upgrades @Bass_Fishing_Socal, IMO the handle on the 71 looks very smooth, like it came with it.

I put a 90mm Hawgtech handle on my Curado 70.  Quite like it.  It’s just  a little bit longer, and the bigger cork knobs are nice. But it’s not so long that it feels awkward on the small reel.  Nice product and I’ve experienced good service from Hawgtech as well if your looking for an upgrade Handle.

What do you deem a short handle? Never noticed anything wrong with the 90mm handles. Which reels do you upgrade the handles on?

A lot of Daiwa reel come with 80mm handle, so does shimano that come with 84mm handle. Change to 90-95mm from 80mm you would see a lot easier to crank the handle and much more comfortable especially for those big hand.

90mm is good. Anything smaller is usually too small for my purposes. The worst reel, for me, so far, was the Mgxtreme2, which has a tiny handle. Terrible. Because the handle that comes with it is awesome quality. But it’s tiny and makes it hardly useable right out of the box. Might be that I have relatively small fingers and relatively big palms (I didn’t know that until hand size charts were circulating around the internet after it became a hot topic in the news in 2015-2016). I find that the rod wobbles reeling in with handles less than 90mm.
