rollyourboat Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Hey Guys. I'm looking for some input on aluminum boats. I've narrowed down my list to: Lowe Stinger 198 Alumacraft Pro 200 Lund Renegade 1875 I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them or individually is fine. Any thoughts are appreciated. I like the longer and wider lowe and alumacraft but I hear more good things about lund so I don't really know. I know there is a lund pro v bass as well but I don't know how I feel about it. I know that most people will tell me to go look in person (which I plan to) and buy which ever has the best deal/nearest dealer but I care more about getting the best performance without going glass. Any ideas, other suggestions? Thanks in advance! Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted March 25, 2020 Super User Posted March 25, 2020 Of those Lund for sure. Have you looked at Xpress? They have the lift and ride like a glass boat. 1 Quote
Shimano_1 Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 All of those rigs are nice! Never been in a lund but never heard anything but praise. I do know the Lowe stingers are super nice. I personally dont think u can go wrong with any of them. It's all a matter of how much ur willing to spend for what u want! I love my Triton 18tx but I've never owned another aluminum bass boat to compare it to. I'm satisfied tho so that's all that matters. Good luck Quote
Super User NHBull Posted March 25, 2020 Super User Posted March 25, 2020 I spent some time on the Renegade last year and it was real nice! It's a lot of boat for the money. Dealers have had a hard time keeping them in stock. 2 Quote
Super User gim Posted March 26, 2020 Super User Posted March 26, 2020 The renegade and pro v bass are quite a bit different even though they are both lunds. The price tag on the pro v bass is also quite a bit more. Throwing the pro v bass into the mix with the others you’ve mentioned is not really a good comparison of similar style boats of different brands. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted March 26, 2020 Super User Posted March 26, 2020 The boats you have listed are cookie cutter hulls. The Lund is riveted, the others welded. The hull designs are pretty similar to a mod-v jon boat only these boats have interiors. The Pro V bass is in a class by itself and will cost twice as much as the others. There's a reason for that. The ProV hull is far superior than a jon boat hull. I have a 20ft Lund for sale that is superior to all the boats you have listed, if you're interested. https://www.skipperbuds.com/inv/2013-Lund-2010-PREDATOR-SkipperBuds-Volo-B18554/ 3 Quote
Guitarfish Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 I would check and compare hull thickness too. Quote
