Was told today at my BPS that the Spring Fishing Classic will start on March 12 and go through April 1.

I also received a postcard stating the same dates in today's mail.

Classic will be at both BPS and Cabela's stores.

I got that too. They are doing the buy one get one I usually take advantage of on Berkley Trilene Fluorocarbon as well, but this year it is in store only. I might not be able to make it to a BPS or Cabela's in that timeframe due to my son's travel hockey schedule :(

Always. He has a tournament in April in Marlboro, MA which is real close to a Cabela's but the sale ends then. I might have a chance after his home tournament when games slow down a little to make it to East Hartford's Cabelas, if not I'll suck it up and pay full price -- it would cost me almost as much as I'd save on gas anyway.

I’ve gotten the flyer a couple of times.  I haven’t seen anything in it to make me drive the 9 miles.

I agree, this year's ad isn't much. I'm still going to drive to the Little Rock store on Saturday. I haven't missed one of these in 20 years, almost a rite of spring for me. However, if next year's sale isn't any better, this will be my last.

The BPS Carbonlite 2.0 spinning reels aren't in the ad, but as of this morning, they are listed on sale on the website when you click to get the details.

Sale price is $49, a $30 savings.  If you bring an old reel in, you can knock another $10 off, getting it down to $39.

Half price, so I bought 2!!

I went today to pick up a few small items. The 2 people in front of me and the 1 guy behind me all had Garmin units in their arms. Must have been a fairly good deal. The guy in front of me bought 2 Garmin units along with 2 Livescopes. Cost was like $4400 or something sick! I felt inferior with my $25 check out LOL!

Ad says those reels are exempt from the bring a reel deal.

My register receipt says otherwise. ?

Those reels aren't part of the combo that is in the ad.  There are just the new Carbonlite 2.0 ones, not in the ad at all and most likely not marked as being on sale at the store.  Bring your phone and show the web page with the 49.97 price to get the sale price.

My ad says excluded from rod and reel trade in. I’m glad you got a good deal.

Wow, our ad doesn't even have that listed.  I wonder if it was a regional thing (I'm in So Cal).

On the website, that disclaimer isn't there either.

Out of curiosity, what page is that on (or what are the other items around it)?  I want to compare it to my flier and see what was listed on mine in place of it.

I'm pretty sure you can order online and pick up in store for free.  They'll hold an order like that for 30 days before refunding your money if you don't pick it up.

Well they cancelled the rest of the youth hockey season, so time is no longer an issue. Turns out that Cabelas.com was discounting the Berkley Trilene FC by something like 60% so I did even better. I purchased a few spools of Berkley Trilene Big Game which I will use for backing and also early in the season when there's a chance the reels might still see below zero temps at night before switching to more expensive line.
