Saturday 65, high Sunday 63.  Forecast is for rain both days.  My Christmas presents to myself this year were 3 used rods.  Two iRods..Genesis II 7' MHF All Purpose and 7' MHF Gab's Rip Rap Special and a 7'1" HF Witch Doctor Shaman.  I have a rain suit that has not been used yet, but since catching a fish is near 0% I am not sure I want to waste my time and gas money getting to a lake even though I am excited to try the rods out.

One incentive to go is getting away from the 'better half' for a couple hours.  Might be worth the trip after all.  :teeth:

What would be a few lures to try?  I don't fish at this time of the year so am pretty clueless.  I could start searching on Google for some possibilities, but would rather hear from some of you that are near my area.  Thanks.

Small, suspending jerkbaits are my go to bait from the bank in the winter months.

^^^^^ This, and small swimbaits like a Kietech 2.8 with or without an underspin should work. Any small bait is the way to go, fished slow, and for the jerkbait, longer than usual pauses.

I was able to go out yesterday and try some new stuff out too! Outside temp was 39 and was was COLD I wanted to see how the 68 Hudd/Bucca's Bull Gill/ and S waver were all handled on the IRod Jr swim.

I lasted an hour and ended up with 0 but love the action on the baits.

My suggestion for right now would either be a Hudd or suspending jerkbait with LONG pauses- but your 65 degrees might get them moving a bit more.

Sad have to use reason to get away from wife to get out....but....

Anyway info above is good....low and slow...jerks...ned...side of deeper points would be a good choice for me...

At least it worked yesterday for a couple...was tough...but good to get out in fresh air.

I was out recently on a crazy warm day " upper 60's" and fished all day without a nibble.

Had a blast, going Monday?.

It ain't as productive as say, Tactical bass'n makes it look. Lol

My best day this winter was 2 fish in 6hrs.

1 fish on Ned....1 fish on Rattletrap.

I've been going on about how good this winter fishing is. Yesterday was cloudy, breezy, and made it to the fifties. Results: four 12 inchers in four hours and those came in 45 min. after I gave up and fished a couple of ponds just before I got home. That's what makes this sport so fascinating. Other times when conditions don't seem to favor success I have some of my best outings. Tried to get the fish to tell me why but didn't get any feedback.
