FISHINGCHRIS03 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I was wondering if anyone knows how to dial in a graph.. I am new to garmin and just got the unit and transducer installed my picture looks nothing like what it does in simulation mode . I was wondering if anyone can help give me some tips or tell me some tricks to produce the best possible image as I'm not really wanting to pay someone 150 to 250 to do it for me.. I've been tinkering with the settings here and there but cant get a clear image.. any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
TheRodFather Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Hard to say without looking at it, the factory settings are pretty good. I have found that in my lakes, there just isn't hardly any cover to speak of. So I don't get to see the downed trees on side view etc. There just isn't anything down there in my lakes, just smooth sand bottom...... I like to have the scroll speed up high on mine, that's about the only thing from factory that I have done. Besides doing contour shading every 10ft using a different color, that really helps to find tapering points, etc. Quote
jaimeastin Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Get on the water... and just play with the unit. These are not fishing days... These are learning days. Go to spots you know with fish and find new ones. Play with the settings. If it goes bad, do a factory reset and start over. You need to learn how to use the unit so you can be successful when you are actually fishing... Otherwise it will be something that you turn on each trip and a disappointment. I do the same when I get new units. Get on the water and mess with the settings. Then drive around, sonars need movement to stich the image together. Seriously, put some time in. Every body of water is different. The default settings usually work, but dialing the unit in works best. Sometimes it is just our expectations of grandeur. You have to learn the unit. Quote
