RyanDR Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 A well thought out work area is just as important as making the baits IMO. I'm brainstorming and planning how I want my indoor setup for mainly tackle and rod making along with other random stuff. Looking to move a lot of my stuff into my apartment from my stuffy detached garage in my apartment complex(It's getting cold again in New England). -Ryan Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 1, 2019 Global Moderator Posted November 1, 2019 My work area is a war zone, only messier, but I know where everything is. I've got a large, tall (approx 4') bench that I pour my lead on with my melting pot and all my molds stored on one half of it. On the other half is all my paint and my toaster over, heat gun, and some spinnerbait boxes I use to hang baits to cool after painting. There's also 3 magnetic strips with variety of tools screwed to the front of the bench. My powder paint air brush in on that bench also. Right next to it is a regular plastic, 6' folding table with all my tying supplies scattered all about the table as well as my reel cleaning supplies. I've got 3 different Harbor Freight block storage containers full of tools, supplies, and skirt material. My vice is at one end, clamped to an old particle board shelf so it sticks out off the edge of the table a bit, and there's 2 magnetic strips with a variety of tools screwed into the front of the table. 1 Quote

Super User Munkin Posted November 4, 2019 Super User Posted November 4, 2019 Amagine what an area would look like after a police search and a burglary. This is what my area looks like most of the time. Allen 2 Quote
Will Wetline Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Ryan, In 2016 I did a major cleanup in my apartment's tackle room and put together what you see in the photos below. There's been a change to uploading pics to BR - and it's a real rigamarole to do so - but I'll submit this reply and we'll see how it comes out. 7 Quote

Super User Darren. Posted November 8, 2019 Super User Posted November 8, 2019 My parents bought me a ruler when I was a lad which had a plaque that read "A Messy Desk is the Mark of Genius". I've lived by that ever since. However, I do envy those who keep a neat desk/work area. LOL.... 1 Quote

Super User Jig Man Posted November 8, 2019 Super User Posted November 8, 2019 I couldn’t work in an area that clean and organized. I have stuff all over the garage. My main work area is 2 bathroom lavatory cabinets placed back to back and covered with an old grocery store butcher block. There are 12 drawers and 2 other storage areas. I also have a closet, a cabinet, a deak, and wall shelves. All but one corner of the butcher block are piled with stuff. I have been making baits and collecting stuff for a long time and I rarely throw anything away. 4 Quote

This is how my work area is turning out. I like the shelves on the back of your bench! Quote
Phishtank Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 My work area is the garage. A little messy while working on the baits. 1 Quote

You must stay in there for long periods of time to keep a can of spam on the counter. Please tell me you don't eat it cold from the can. 1 2 Quote
DanielG Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I just updated a section of my shop to make lures. I've made a youtube video of it. Feel free to take a look at it. It's only about 12 minutes. Or not.... 2 Quote
