Just sayin' what I read today. As far as ice, we might have 1"-2", on inland lakes right now.  Lake Michigan is still free of ice.  There should be 18" of ice on inland water right now.

We saw someone out on our lake yesterday ice fishing. It’s been froze over for maybe five days. The lake down the road had two on it yesterday. That one hasn’t been iced over for 2-3 days. Not smart in my eyes.

After four hours, 600 feet of sidewalk, and my driveway the snow blowing it done! I guess I should have done it yesterday when the snow was still powder. The freezing rain last night made it crunchy and not the greatest for a single stage. Thankfully at home I have a two stage so it wasn’t too bad. I’m good with snow removal for a while.

We reside in a somewhat rural area -

Most all the homes are set back a ways from the road.

Some are several hundred yards back in the woods.

My home was not visible from the road when we purchased it 2007.

Took down several trees out front to open it up a bit.

In the township we live in, I don't think you can purchase a home with less than 3 acres of land.

That thing is a beast @A-Jay! I had a drive cable snap on my blower yesterday so I had to go across the lake and grab my BIL’s new Husqvarna 27” two stage. It’s really nice but there were times I had to stop to let it catch up on the snow so I didn’t have any falling off the side. They don’t make them like the used to.

My dad bought a gigantic 48” Craftsman back in the late seventies. That thing like yours would eat through the snow like it wasn’t even there. It was quite the workout using the big thing. It’s no longer in the family but it’s still running to this day.

Hate when a cable snaps - Hate it.

I've jury rig a few deals when that happens in my day.

Yea - I didn't show it but I routinely clear 'paths' out back.

Leading to & from the kennel and to 'the zone' (area where the dogs do their business)

Makes getting around in this stuff So Much Easier !

Either way, that's where the machine really show's off it's guts and those treads do their thing.

Terrain back there is hilly, uneven and the snow drifts big back there.

Big red will gobbles it up and launches it into the woods while yanking me along for the ride.

This is the first model out the newer one has a left /right turning feature this one does not -

unless you count me spin dragging it around - it a workout in itself.

But you know I love it.

Seems once it sneaks below 10 degrees or so - It's just cold.

And unless there's big wind - I can't really tell the difference.

I'll admit, unlike my dogs, I don't 'hang out' in it very long.

I agree, once it gets below 10 there isn’t much difference. If it’s dead calm and below zero I’m good. If it’s 30 and breezy I’m done. That wind just tears right through me and chills me to the bone.

I look at in in a manner of perspective - it's ABOVE zero here, it's BELOW zero there. The mind is a wonderful thing...that zero mark means something.

That's cold for your area ~

And we'd croak here if we got your summer heat for more than a hour or two.

Would be funny if the homeowners received a bill from Mr. Raccoon for cleaning the chimney. From his sooty foot prints it appears he’s been cleaning. ?

Looks like the rubber roofing (assuming it’s rubber in the bottom pic) needs to be replaced ASAP or at least where those wrinkles are showing the roof sheathing.

Yeah the leak is why she called a roofer and the roofer said you need to get rid of the raccoon first haha

They can have it.

Actually it was a nice crisp morning, not too cold, dead silent, and a nice sunrise as in the sun actually showed itself (something that doesn’t happen during the Michigan winter). So all in all a pretty good morning.

47 Sunday and 46 Monday for us. Windy and rainy so it won’t be enjoyable.

Watching the weather this evening they said it’s been 8 straight days without the sun. It doesn’t look like it’ll show itself any time soon either. Thanks Lake Michigan!
