TriStateBassin106 Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Gonna be picking up some new bullet weights for my T rigs, what size weight would be better for a slower fall rate? 3/8oz or 1/4/oz maybe 1/8oz? Quote
LonnieP Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 The lighter the weight, the slower the fall. 1/8 is what I use when I want a T rig to sink slowly. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 9, 2019 Super User Posted October 9, 2019 Hmmmm must be a trick question, 5 lb weight or 5 gram weight which weighs less? I use 3/16 oz 90% of the time, not one of the choices. Tom 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 9, 2019 Global Moderator Posted October 9, 2019 It really depends on a lot of variables but I use 1/4oz a majority of the time. The lighter the weight, the slower the fall, but it just isn't an option or practical sometimes. Quote

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the lightest weight will fall slower, but don't quote me... 2 Quote
Dens228 Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Fall rate will also be affected by which plastic you're rigging.............such as Senko vs Rage Tail Craw 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted October 9, 2019 Super User Posted October 9, 2019 Platinum weights? Get all three. Add in some 3/16's and 1/16's. Fall rate is only one effect to consider. Size, shape, feedback, ability to shed weeds and come through brush, etc. You're going to lose weights and you're going to want to experiment with different weights in different conditions. Get yourself a few different weights of one material and pay attention to how they act for you. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted October 10, 2019 Super User Posted October 10, 2019 I use 1/8 and 3/16oz for most applications. If I am fishing in less than 5 feet with a Senko I tend to weightless. I catch just as many fish on the fall with no weight as I do with weights on a slow retrieve. Quote
