A friend of mine invented one.  I don’t know if that is it.  He sold the patten to Johnny Morris several years ago.

In a nut shell, yes. However, here in the Northeast the waters will start to turn cold fast in the next 6 weeks or so, so I've been making some inline spinners to do some multi species fishing.

I've used them on inline spinners and spinnerbaits. They work as they're intended, but make sure you have the open end towards where you tie the line on, otherwise your blades can get kicked off on the cast (learned that the hard way).
