Super User Boomstick Posted February 2, 2020 Super User Posted February 2, 2020 I found that I love targeting bass between various presentations, fishing weeds and they put up a good fight too but on some days where I'm not getting bass, I can target trout, perch and crappie (good eating too). Catching a big trout on an ultra light rod is like hooking a mondo bass on your medium or medium heavy too! In one lake if the bass aren't biting, I can fish a small spinnerbait and I might get a dozen chain pickerel. I have also targeted channel catfish (also good eating but unfortunately most areas I can land them are very polluted). Targeting northern pike and muskies can also be fun, and at times especially in the summer months a real challenge too. I want to try some deep sea fishing in the next year or two, maybe catch some cod, stripers or tuna -- not sure what I'm going for yet but that sounds fun Quote
