I'm looking to clean the cork on my fishing rod before I seal it. I fished with it for two days while I was waiting on the U40 to arrive. Well it got dirty in a couple spots and I was wondering what I could use to clean it?

Magic Eraser or simple green and a soft brush

Thanks a lot. Which would cause less harm to the cork?

+1 that’s exactly what I did to all my cork handle rods no matter used or band new.

I use magic eraser, didn't have to scrub too hard, then a very light coat of U40 Cork Sealer.  I didn't feel any difference in the grip.

You guys remind me of my butt getting sweaty stuck on my grandma's couch...

Sealing cork is as silly as, well..... sealing cork.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser Pads;  even if the cork has 5 years of slime on it.  Slick, quick, easy.

Magic Erasers did the trick. Rod looked brand new. Hopefully the sealant helps with pitting like I have had with other cork handles.
