Gorris317 Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I'm looking to clean the cork on my fishing rod before I seal it. I fished with it for two days while I was waiting on the U40 to arrive. Well it got dirty in a couple spots and I was wondering what I could use to clean it? Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Both methods are perfectly safe. Quote

ike8120 Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 I use magic eraser, didn't have to scrub too hard, then a very light coat of U40 Cork Sealer. I didn't feel any difference in the grip. 1 Quote

Super User Deleted account Posted June 20, 2019 Super User Posted June 20, 2019 You guys remind me of my butt getting sweaty stuck on my grandma's couch... Sealing cork is as silly as, well..... sealing cork. Quote
Tackleholic Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Mr Clean Magic Eraser Pads; even if the cork has 5 years of slime on it. Slick, quick, easy. Quote
Gorris317 Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 Magic Erasers did the trick. Rod looked brand new. Hopefully the sealant helps with pitting like I have had with other cork handles. Quote
