FrogInTheWell Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 I have an older 70 lb 24 V Minn Kota trolling motor that has 4 wires coming off of it .. 2 red, 2 black. I want to put a plug on the end of these wires. I have a brand new plug and outlet that is for 2 or 3 wires (Marinco 70AMP). I hate to have to buy another that is specifically for 4 wires if I don't have too. My question...is there any problem if I just use 2 of the wires coming off the motor into the plug? Batteries are connected in series. Thanks, Joe. Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted June 19, 2019 Super User Posted June 19, 2019 I would think you would be fine using 2 wires at 24 volts. Would I bet my trolling motor on it? no. If you have a manual with an internal wiring diagram, you might be able to tell if it’s a simple switch or some kind of circuit. Quote
