Anyone familiar with the motorguide xi3. I bought it specifically for the built in transducer. It claims to be compatible with numerous fish finders (using correct adapter cable). I have a Garmin fish finder and bought the adapter cable but can't get it to work. Any suggestions? Do I need to buy a lowrance?

Thanks

Specifically, what can’t you get to work? If your Garmin doesn’t see the transducer, you’ll get a screen message telling you so. Hard to help with a solution without more information.

It just shows vertical lines. In the menu of the strike 4, it has sonar setup to choose transducer connected. I choose motorguide and all I get is vertical lines. I've mounted the Garmin transducer and it works fine, just hoping to be able to use the built in.

I have an xi5 and use it with a lowrance. That's what my unit does when I pull the trolling motor out of the water without turning the graph off. Not sure if this info helps narrow it down but to me it acts like it is out of the water.
