Now that the rivers are basically back to normal after massive flooding all spring and summer so far, I will be making my first trip of the season to my home river to chase some river Smallies.

I've got KVD 1.5s, Bitsy Bug Jigs with Z-Man CrawZ, Ned Rigs, Inline Spinners, Whopper Ploppers, and Poppers all ready to go.

Let's get it!

Love your post man. I switch to the lake when the river gets too bad to fish.

I’m always pumped also. Tomorrow morning at sunrise gonna give it heck.

Hope it it goes well. Be safe. Have fun.

It was an awesome day. I only caught them on two baits because they wouldn't stop smashing them: KVD 1.5 in Chart/Black and a Whopper Plopper 90 in Bone. Biggest 2 were 18 inches and only one was under 12 inches.

On another positive note, I found a Booyah Lipless Crankbait in a Craw pattern. Someone must have just lost it because it was in perfect shape with no rust. All the hooks were sharp and they weren't stock hooks but I'm not sure who the replacement hooks were made by. On the way home I stopped at a pond and caught a 2lb LMB with it.

All smiles.

Now that is what fishing is about. Thanks, G. Since I can’t go fishing anytime soon vicarious fishing is the only left to sustain me.

Why can't you fish anytime soon?
