Anyone else having a bad start to the fishing season too? I'm averaging less than one fish per trip? You know it's bad when your wife see that you are getting skunked and she's not then offer's you her rod and bait just so you can catch one lol. I think those of us in a slump should support each other.

Pretty miserable here. I can't even fish my favorite and best places due to flooding. Where I can fish is abysmal. I'm lucky to get one most days. Worst season in a decade.

Take care with the flooding. That's way more serious than me trying to be funny. Hang in there dude.

Got the opposite problem down here. Big O is at the lowest level in a year.

Take care

I can't catch any big fish. Lots of them, but the fish over 5 just aren't happening for me this year like the last few. I think I've caught 2 or 3 over 5 and 1 over 6 so far.

I’m not catching any and I haven’t caught a big one.

It's been tough here as well.  Lots of rain, grass is sparse and we had a very short spring.  That's why I am going to Michigan for a week!!

Water levels are high, lots of flooding. I caught 26 last Saturday, but everyone except one were little dinks. For some reason the ONLY thing I can catch fish with for the last month is with the wacky worm. I have caught zero fish with jigs, crankbaits, topwater.... It's frustrating to say the least.

I haven't even got to fish yet. Season dosen't open until sat.

I feel like I have missed or lost more fish already this year then all of last year.   Swimbaits to a dropshot, I cannot seem to make a solid hookset for some reason.   Yesterday was the worst, one bass landed for five on the line and maybe three more solid hits.

Up here we can't even get it to stay in the 60s. About to be halfway through May and we're still battling some 50s for highs with more to come.

Here being an hour and a half south of Chicago.

I have been catching lots of fish...just not Bass. Catch what the waters give you. Right now they are giving me Trout and Perch.

The weather is unseasonably cool and wet. Yesterday broke an 11 day streak of days with some form of rain.

Rivers are high, fast and cold with mountain snow runoff. Still seeing some of that snow in patches on some of the higher elevations.

I predict Bass action will heat up here after the 20th. My logs show that was the magic date last year.

Been doing pretty well down here in SE Louisiana.

Cant complain to be honest. Those of you, dealing with flood waters, keep safe.

Fishing has been good.

However does anyone have advice or a guide for an angry Mrs.? She seen the eBay invoices for the last few months. Definitely not happy lol. Thank goodness she didn't see the tackle warehouse or local purchases!

I haven't caught a lot of fish yet this year but I've caught a lot of quality fish.  The majority of all my catches have been over 18" and I got my PB on Easter.

Up until Sunday afternoon, I had been having my worst early spring fishing that I can ever remember.  I don't think any factors besides very inconsistent and cold weather are to blame.  But, Sunday afternoon, I had a fantastic day, catching multiple quality fish on cranks, jerks, spinnerbaits, & jigs.

I’ve been catching this year, but nothing any size. The bass have been hitting crankbaits mostly. Not hitting plastics at all.

Cold fronts, wind, and rain are my only problems right now. (kayak angler)

Absolutely ridiculous. Very cool.

Positive note for me here: caught 14 in an hour and a half this morning. Access to the pond has been restored as water makes its way back to where it belongs (although the river is still to be avoided). Ned Rig got it done for the best day yet this spring. Nothing over 2.5 pounds but it was great.

That seems to be my problem as well. The other day they kept pulling the skirt halfway off of my jigs. I've never had that happen before. I was standing there scratching my head like whaaa...?

Yeah you guys in the midwest seem to be stuck in a early spring pattern weather wise. Shoot we already have had 85F here in the Seattle area. Hopefully things change for yall soon.

Good luck Sir . .

Hope you get fish-able conditions.

Also just because you watch Bruce Lee movies, may not mean you know Karate.
