I have 2 Lowrance elite 7 hd's. I print a map that gave the loc of man made structures that had sunk. so I entered the long and lat in each unit and saved them. when I fished the lake none of the way points appeared. what went wrong?

Is it plugged in?

Wish I could help. The word ‘man made’ will no doubt have flaws. How many passes did you make with the graph?

thought so. I should have mentioned that I entered them from home, not on the lake.

There’s plenty of things that could have gone wrong.   You may have entered them in the wrong format.  The very first time I entered a waypoint from a map it was before GPS’s had on screen maps.  I was trying to navigate to the waypoint but didn’t seem to be making progress.  Then I noticed it was 5000 miles away.  I had entered it for the Southern Hemisphere.

An easy way to do this is using Google Maps. You can enter the lat/long of each waypoint into Google Maps and save it. You are basically creating your own custom map with all of your waypoints. Then once you have them all done, you can export that map into .gpx, .hwr or whatever file format your unit reads and load it up to your sonar.
